Lately,God has been impressing in my heart to pray.I mean really get down and pray about,people,situations,the world,neighborhoods.I have a burden in my heart that will not go away.It was put there by God,this I know.
I cannot tell you how I have neglected my prayer life in the past.It used to be empty and powerless,mainly because I did not pray God's will but mostly prayed my own desires and wants.Slowly God is changing me into someone who is desiring what God desires.Now,I pray for things of eternal value;placing people over materialistic things.God is surely merciful to me.And patient.
I have been reading some great books on prayer lately-The Power Of A Praying Wife by Stormie Omartian,Fresh Wind,Fresh Fire by Jim Cymbala,and The Dieter's Prayer Book by Heather Harpham Kopp.
These are all great books and God is using them to stir me up to pray and to pray with fervency and specifically.
I have seen lives saved,jobs received,and bodies healed through answered prayer.God is good and loves it when we call on His name to help us.
A great place to start is praying the Psalms out loud to God.He responds to His Word.I encourage you and even challenge you to start today-and please let me know the results!
